Russian drones have struck Kyiv’s second major bridge, the Northern Bridge, damaging its road surface and trolleybus overhead wires according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
This strike follows a wave of attacks that hit the Southern Bridge earlier this week, signalling a new phase in Moscow’s strategy to cripple the city’s critical infrastructure and trade routes between its eastern and western districts.
On Telegram the mayor warned that traffic from the left to the right bank is now blocked and that emergency services are on the way to assess the damage. He emphasised the disruption to essential transport links and the broader impact on the city’s logistics and housing network.
With the city in a "very dramatic situation", the defence council convened a crisis meeting after the latest barrage highlighted the relentless pressure on Kyiv’s infrastructure and the need to reorganise defence and civilian responses.
