A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to protect former first lady Jill Biden accidentally shot himself in the leg at Philadelphia International Airport on Friday morning. The incident occurred during a 'negligent discharge' of the agent's firearm while he was traveling in an unmarked car shortly before 9 a.m., according to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi and Philadelphia Police Officer Tanya Little. Fortunately, Biden was not in the vicinity when the accident took place. Other law enforcement officers promptly arrived to assist the injured agent, who was subsequently taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
