The body of Zamil Limon, a Bangladeshi doctoral student at the University of South Florida (USF), was discovered Friday morning on the Howard Frankland Bridge over Tampa Bay. His girlfriend, Nahida Bristy, however, remains missing.

Authorities confirmed that Limon's roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, 26, has been arrested. Abugharbeih faces several charges, including unlawfully moving a dead body and failure to report a death. He is expected to appear in court Saturday morning as the community remains in turmoil.

During the initial investigation, police responded to a report of domestic violence at Abugharbeih's family home and later had to utilize a SWAT team to safely apprehend him after he barricaded himself inside.

Pictures captured earlier show residents gathering outside the Lake Forest subdivision in connection to the investigation. Many in the community are distressed as the story unfolds.

'This is a deeply disturbing case that has shaken our community and impacted many who were hoping for a safe resolution,' Hillsborough County Chief Deputy Joseph Maurer stated. The police are continuing their search efforts for Nahida Bristy, who was last seen at the campus just an hour after Limon was last seen at his off-campus apartment.

Limon and Bristy, both 27, were reportedly considering marriage. Their abrupt disappearance on April 16 prompted concerns from family and friends, leading to the involvement of campus police when both became unreachable.

Further complicating matters, Abugharbeih has a history of arrests, which included previous charges for domestic violence and battery. Investigators are sifting through evidence, and an autopsy is expected to shed light on the cause of Limon's death shortly. Community members fear for Bristy as the situation unfolds.
