Zimbabwe’s high‑profile businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife Lucy Muteke were killed in a helicopter crash that also claimed four other passengers, according to police.
The aircraft went down near Marondera, 70km east of Harare, about 40 minutes after leaving Gandami in Chikomba.
Chivayo, known for his lavish lifestyle, was a key figure in several lucrative government contracts, including a controversial solar project.
The family said they were devastated, and investigations into the crash are underway.
Kenyan President William Ruto and other African leaders expressed condolences over the tragedy.
