Israel says Iran's top security official, Ali Larijani, and the head of the paramilitary Basij force, Gholamreza Soleimani, have been killed in Israeli air strikes.

Larijani and the Basij commander were eliminated last night and have joined Khamenei, the head of the annihilation programme, along with all those eliminated from the Axis of Evil in the depths of hell, declared Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz.

Iranian authorities have confirmed the deaths of both men, as well as Larijani's son and bodyguards, marking Larijani as the highest-ranking Iranian official assassinated since Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's death amidst the Israeli and US strikes that commenced on Feb 28.

The recent attacks have triggered widespread conflict across the Middle East, with Iran retaliating through missile and drone strikes against Israel and Arab nations that host US military facilities. This escalation has caused significant oil price surges due to disruptions in Gulf states and vital shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

On Wednesday, Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced that Larijani had been killed in a precisely targeted strike near Tehran. Known for his close ties with Khamenei and his leadership role in Iranian security, Larijani had previously overseen Iran's response to international pressure and internal dissent.

Reports suggest that more than 1,300 individuals, including many civilians, have been killed in the conflict since its intensification, while Israeli officials report casualties from Iranian missile attacks within Israel.

As tensions continue to rise, the geopolitical landscape of the region remains unpredictable, with oil supplies and military contingencies at the forefront of concerns.
