Sean “Diddy” Combs is under fresh scrutiny following a lawsuit that accuses him of dangling a woman from a balcony during a heated interaction. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles by fashion designer Bryana "Bana" Bongolan, recounts an incident from 2016 that allegedly occurred at the apartment of Combs' then-girlfriend, Casandra "Cassie" Ventura.
This latest lawsuit adds to the mounting legal challenges Combs faces, with over two dozen claims against him, including accusations of sexual assault, drugging individuals, threatening witnesses, and causing physical harm. Currently, Combs is also contending with federal charges related to racketeering and a sex trafficking operation.
Bongolan claims that the confrontation began when Combs began banging on the front door of Ventura's apartment. Upon entering, he allegedly confronted her on the balcony, after which he is said to have grabbed and molested her. The lawsuit further alleges that Combs lifted her off the ground and dangled her from the balcony, creating a terrifying situation for the designer.
According to the lawsuit, Bongolan, who weighed approximately 100 pounds (45.3 kg) at the time, struggled to evade Combs's grip in fear of being dropped to her death. The claim asserts that Ventura intervened right before the situation worsened, resulting in Combs allegedly slamming Bongolan onto patio furniture when he pulled her back.
In response to these serious allegations, a representative for Combs firmly stated his confidence in the judicial process, asserting that the claims against him would ultimately be proven baseless. The statement emphasized, “Anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have,” reflecting Diddy's unwavering faith in his case.
Bongolan has expressed uncertainty about what triggered the altercation, alleging it was part of a larger pattern of threats and intimidation that marked her interactions with Combs since their professional relationship began. She seeks to recoup $10 million in damages.
The allegations against Combs resonate with accusations laid in a previous lawsuit by Ventura herself, which included charges of abuse and sex trafficking. A notable incident documented in Ventura's suit described Combs lifting one of her friends similarly to how Bongolan claims to have been treated.
Combs, currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, has been denied bail on multiple occasions, deepening the legal challenges he faces in the wake of these shocking claims.
