Woman Charged with Juror Intimidation in the Lindsay Clancy Trial

A 56‑year‑old woman was arrested after taking photographs of jury members outside the Plymouth courthouse, an incident that has raised concerns about court security during the highly publicised trial of Lindsay Clancy, who faces three counts of first‑degree murder.

Dawn Light, a registered nurse with no prior criminal record, was found in a restricted area and was accused of photographing jurors as they left the building. She has pleaded not guilty, describing the incident as a misunderstanding and insisting that she was merely “trying to get a picture of Ms Clancy.”

Judge William Sullivan, overseeing the trial, issued an order prohibiting the photographing or filming of jurors and has barred Light from the courthouse grounds and from any contact with persons connected with the case. A bail amount of £37,000 was requested by the prosecution but was denied by the court.

The trial itself, livestreamed to audiences across the globe, has drawn strong reactions and intense scrutiny. The jury has been deliberating since Thursday over whether Clancy is criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children.
