Millions of new files relating to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have been released by the US Department of Justice, marking the largest number of documents shared by the government since a law mandated their release last year.

Three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos were posted publicly on Friday. The release came six weeks after the department missed a legal deadline mandated by legislation signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the release aims for transparency and compliance with the law. Among the files are details about Epstein's imprisonment, including a psychological report and investigative records about his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

The documents reveal Epstein's email correspondence with high-profile figures, such as details of an invitation to 'The Duke' to meet a Russian woman, as well as correspondences with Lord Mandelson regarding financial support.

The files also make mention of Donald Trump, who is cited numerous times, alongside unverified allegations made against him and others. The release has led to responses from involved parties, including Bill Gates, who dismissed sensational claims as 'absurd and false.'

While Blanche indicated this marks the end of a comprehensive document review, doubts remain among some lawmakers regarding the completeness of the documents released, with concerns that more files are being withheld. This highlights ongoing controversies surrounding the investigation into Epstein and the high-profile individuals connected to him.
