Prime Minister Andy Burnham has pledged that the United Kingdom will continue to give "unwavering" support to Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.
Zelensky, the first international visitor to see the new PM since his appointment a week ago, will meet the minister in London and review the progress of the maritime Sea Breeze exercise that has seen more than 200 Ukrainian troops training with British forces.
A key moment will be Burnham’s announcement that the UK will share the intellectual property behind the Stone Cloak electronic‑warfare system—a tablet‑sized jammer that can mask drones from detection. The UK has already supplied thousands of units to Ukraine and plans to incorporate the technology into future long‑range weapons under Project Brakestop.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Britain stands "shoulder to shoulder" with Ukraine, insisting that the nation’s resolve against Russian aggression will not waver until a lasting peace is achieved. He highlighted the strategic importance of the technology for both countries’ security and celebrated the strengthening of defence cooperation.
The meeting also reflects the broader UK‑Ukraine partnership, which has included £25 bn in financial support since the invasion began, as well as recent funding pledges by former Labour leader Keir Starmer. The two leaders will also discuss broader diplomatic ties, with Zelensky stressing the need to maintain strong relations amid ongoing war pressures.
