BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Authorities have confirmed that a University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) football player attacked two teammates with a knife early Saturday morning, just hours before the scheduled game against the University of South Florida. According to a university statement, both injured players are currently in stable condition while the player suspected of carrying out the attack is now in custody.

The assault unfolded at the Football Operations Building on campus, creating an alarming scenario for the UAB football community.
