Israel says it has destroyed a key Hezbollah underground base beneath Ali Taher Ridge in southern Lebanon.
Using 1,000 tonnes of explosives, the Israeli Defense Forces detonated two tunnels that stretched more than 2km underground. The blast was powerful enough to register a 4.1‑magnitude seismic event, confirmed by the US Geological Survey. Residents near the site reported a bright fireball, followed immediately by a fierce rumble and shaking that felt like a small earthquake.
According to IDF statements, the complex housed a Hezbollah command centre, a cache of rockets, missiles, UAVs and anti‑tank weapons. The operation is part of a broader offensive that has seen Israeli troops secure a "security zone" along the southern Lebanese border. Hezbollah have not issued a response, and Lebanese authorities remain silent.
