British Paraglider Killed in Spain Crash Near Tremp
A 63‑year‑old British man died on Wednesday after a paragliding accident near Tremp in Catalonia, Spain. Emergency services received a call at about 13:30 local time (14:30 BST) about a crash in the Palau de Noguera area.
Rescuers found the man seriously injured. He was given first‑aid before medical teams arrived, but he later passed away at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation; local media have suggested that he may have become tangled in power lines before hitting the ground.
The Catalan government said three fire brigades and two medical teams attended the scene and that the Mossos d’Esquadra and citizen security units were involved in the investigation. Authorities will inform the family through British consular channels.
The UK Foreign Office confirmed that it was supporting the family of the deceased.
