Arrests Made in Deadly Bali Shooting: Australian Victim Identified
Two suspects apprehended after a violent home invasion leaves one Australian dead and another seriously injured in Bali.
Bali police have made significant arrests in connection with a tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of one Australian man and left another with severe injuries. The victim, identified as Zivan Radmanovic, 32, was shot at his villa in Munggu just after midnight on Saturday. Following the attack, police apprehended one suspect in Jakarta, while the other was arrested abroad, though further specifics were not disclosed.
According to reports from Australian media, Mr. Radmanovic's wife described waking up to her husband's desperate screams, only to find him fatally injured in the bathroom. A second victim, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim, also sustained gunshot wounds and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. Additional information indicated that he endured physical assault during the incident.
The victims' wives provided eyewitness testimony, stating they saw the attackers; fortunately, neither of them was harmed. Law enforcement officials have not revealed the potential motive behind the shooting, which remains under investigation.
At the crime scene, authorities collected a wealth of evidence, including 17 bullet casings, two complete projectiles, and 55 bullet fragments. Images from the villa depict alarming signs of violence, with bullet holes in windows and visible blood stains on the floor. Witnesses reported hearing the assailants speak English with pronounced Australian accents. One attacker was noted to wear an orange jacket and dark helmet, while the other donned a dark green jacket, black mask, and dark helmet.
This grim incident has taken place within the popular tourist district of Badung, home to famed beaches such as Kuta and Canggu. Despite Bali’s international acclaim as a vacation destination, violent crime remains a rarity on the island, which attracts millions of visitors annually.
