Dubbed 'Operation Midway Blitz,' this operation embodies a crackdown on undocumented immigrants amid growing local resistance.
The initiative, which commenced on September 8, has sparked outcry from activists and immigrant advocates who express fears over aggressive enforcement tactics reminiscent of heightened deportation efforts in other cities. These tactics have included significant increases in visible ICE personnel on the streets, although local military deployment has not yet occurred.
An Associated Press ride-along with agents in the suburbs revealed their meticulous approach: discussing descriptions of targets, radio channels, and potential medical support.
