In brief

At the Dubai World Trade Centre, the 12th edition of Gulfood Manufacturing 2026 demonstrated how advanced automation, packaging, and process‑control systems can enhance food‑industry resilience. Vice President Mark Napier underscored the event’s strong international attendance and the promising commercial engagement on the show floor. The exhibition set the stage for a move to Expo City Dubai in 2027, signalling a continued focus on integrated food‑production solutions.

The 12th edition of Gulfood Manufacturing, held on 7 November 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, showcased advanced production technologies aimed at reinforcing food security through higher productivity, lower operating costs, and resilient supply chains.

Gulfood Manufacturing is one of four co‑located exhibitions that year, alongside GulfHost, ISM Middle East, and Private Label Middle East, forming a comprehensive cluster that spans the entire food‑production value chain—from ingredients and processing to packaging and automation.

Vice President Mark Napier of inD highlighted the event’s “continued strength of the global food manufacturing industry” and praised the “exceptional international attendance” that brought decision‑makers worldwide to the show floor.

Napier added that international participation reflected Dubai’s resilience in an uncertain economic and geopolitical backdrop, noting that food security relies on “reliable production, processing, and transportation, as well as an integrated network of factories, equipment, ingredients, and logistics services.”

Key technology displays focused on automation, precision process control, and digital integration. Researchers and manufacturers presented robotic handling systems that reduce manual labor, advanced conveyor‑line sensors that track product quality in real‑time, and AI‑driven analytics platforms that optimize resource consumption.

Packaging innovations featured biodegradable materials combined with smart‑labeling technology, enabling traceability from farm to fork. Food‑service equipment displayed modular stations that support rapid reconfiguration of production lines in response to fluctuating demand.

Operational efficiency was emphasized through case studies showing reduced energy consumption by up to 20 % and shortened testing times through inline spectrometry. These efficiencies translate into lower costs for manufacturers, enabling more competitive pricing and lower consumer expenses.

Beyond cost, enhanced resilience was a central theme. Demonstrations of redundant process units, automated contingency protocols, and real‑time supply‑chain monitoring illustrated how manufacturers could minimize disruptions caused by component shortages or geopolitical events.

Business engagement was high, with many exhibitors reporting “serious commercial engagement” and “real business opportunities” for new production lines. The event also served as a hub for investors seeking equipment that can keep production uninterrupted during supply‑chain shocks.

Looking ahead, the conference will relocate to the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai for its next edition, scheduled for 1‑3 November 2027. Organizers anticipate that the new venue will accommodate even larger exhibition space, allowing further expansion of technology trials and collaborative workshops.
