DALLAS (Quanta Report) — Federal prosecutors announced on Thursday that they have indicted rapper Pooh Shiesty along with eight accomplices, accusing them of robbing and kidnapping three men during a business meeting earlier this year in Texas. The dispute stems from contract negotiations with 1017 Records, the label owned by prominent rapper Gucci Mane.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Dallas, the victims were lured to Dallas under the pretense of a legitimate business meeting but were met with violence upon arrival. One of the victims, whose initials are R.D., is identified as the owner of 1017 Records, which is managed by Gucci Mane—legal name Radric Delantic Davis.

The victims in this case came to Dallas to conduct legitimate business and they were met with firearms and violence, Ryan Raybould, the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas, stated during a press conference. Publicists for Gucci Mane have not yet responded to inquiries regarding the matter.

The alleged robbery took place on January 10, when the three victims flew into Dallas with the expectation of discussing contractual terms with Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr. As soon as the victims entered the recording studio, Williams Jr. and his co-conspirators allegedly executed a coordinated armed takeover, according to the indictment.

Raybould referred to Pooh Shiesty as the ringleader of the conspiracy, indicating that he orchestrated the meeting. Most of the accused were apprehended by authorities during a Wednesday operation. Several suspects, including Pooh Shiesty, were discovered at a residence linked to him in Cordova, Tennessee.

During the confrontation, Pooh Shiesty allegedly brandished an AK-style pistol and coerced one of the victims into signing a release from their recording contract. The other defendants, armed and aggressive, robbed the victims of their valuables, including watches, jewelry, and cash, with one of the victims reportedly losing consciousness due to choking. Another assailant physically blocked the door to prevent their escape.

Following the incident, several defendants were spotted on social media showing off items believed to be the stolen jewelry. Pooh Shiesty was on home confinement for a prior firearms-related conviction at the time of the Texas criminal acts.

Despite the ongoing legal issues, Pooh Shiesty is still prominently featured on the 1017 Records website.
