HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) — Rapper Offset, a former member of Migos, was shot on Monday night outside the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida. Thankfully, he is currently in stable condition at a local hospital, as stated by a spokesperson.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was involved in the hip-hop scene alongside his cousin Takeoff, who was tragically shot and killed in Houston over three years ago. Following the recent shooting, Offset has been receiving treatment, although specific details about his condition have not been disclosed.

The Seminole Police Department reported that another individual suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident that took place at the valet area of the casino. Police officials are currently holding two suspects and have declared that there is no threat to public safety.

This event comes amidst other high-profile incidents of violence within the hip-hop community, including the deaths of artists like Nipsey Hussle, Pop Smoke, PnB Rock, and Young Dolph.

Offset gained fame as part of the Grammy-nominated trio Migos, which rose to prominence with hits like “Versace” and the successful album “Culture.” He and Cardi B were secretly married in September 2017 but later filed for divorce in 2024; they share three children.

In response to the violent trend affecting artists in the industry, Migos’ remaining member, Quavo, has actively sought to address gun violence, recently organizing a summit for change.
