In brief
Meghan Markle has been confirmed as a special guest co‑host for the upcoming season of Junior MasterChef Australia, airing in 2027 alongside host Poh Ling Yeow. The announcement follows her appearance as a guest judge on the adult version of the show last year, which drew record Sunday viewership. Despite ongoing controversy over her father's alleged abuse, Markle claims she has severed ties with him. The Duchess, who earlier this year announced her return to the UK, looks forward to cooking with young contestants and highlights her love for family cooking. The show will air on Channel 10 as part of Paramount ANZ.
Meghan Markle has been confirmed as a special guest co‑host for the 2027 series of Junior MasterChef Australia, joining host Poh Ling Yeow on Channel 10.
She expressed enthusiasm, saying she "can’t wait" to take part after guest judging the adult version of the show last year, which drew the program’s biggest Sunday audience since 2023.
The decision comes amid renewed scrutiny following accusations that her father, Thomas Markle, has abused young girls; Meghan has reportedly broken contact and refuted the claims as "lies".
Markle’s return to the UK after a California stint will coincide with her culinary appearance. She has described the experience as "loving cooking with my own kids" and looks to enjoy the spectacle of young chefs in the kitchen.
The programme will be broadcast as part of Paramount ANZ’s lineup, and no comment has been made about whether the Duchess will receive a payment for her role.
Known for her prior media ventures, the Duchess has launched a lifestyle brand and appeared in a Netflix cooking series that ran for two seasons and a Christmas special.
