Lizzo has spoken out after the remaining claims in a lawsuit against her production company were thrown out by a US district judge.
Former wardrobe assistant Asha Daniels had alleged degradation, forced physical labor, denial of medical care, sexual and racial harassment while briefly working with Big Grrrl Big Touring in 2023. The judge, Fernando L Aenlle‑Rocha, dismissed Daniels’ claims, stating there was no evidence of general hostility or disparate treatment of men and women in the workplace.
In an Instagram post, Lizzo announced she was "relieved" and would "continue to fight every claim" made against her and her company. She also thanked her lawyers and promised to use her platform to spread positivity and light to the world.
The ruling also addressed an allegation that Daniels’ foot was run over by a heavy clothes rack. The judge noted the injury did not qualify as a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the conduct was deemed inappropriate but outside ordinary workplace protection.
Daniels’ lawsuit followed a separate suit filed by three former tour dancers, which included sexual harassment claims that Lizzo’s team has denied. Earlier in 2025, fat‑shaming claims from the same lawsuit were dismissed by a judge.
Lizzo remains determined to continue defending her reputation and business interests, while her supporters rally in her Instagram updates.
