A powerful tornado ripped through villages in southern France, damaging roofs, homes and leaving thousands without electricity.

A sudden and intense tornado tore through several villages in southern France, injuring more than 40 residents. The storm, which formed beneath a severe thunderstorm, produced winds exceeding 100km/h, snapping roofs and uprooting trees. Emergency teams report that close to 2,800 households remained without power by Monday evening, and several roads were temporarily blocked.
