In brief

Justin Baldoni's recent accolade—the Voices of Solidarity Award—has been rescinded following serious allegations from his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively, who accused him of sexual harassment and attempts to tarnish her reputation. The award, presented by the Vital Voices organization, was conferred to Baldoni at a New York ceremony just weeks before Lively filed a legal complaint detailing "abhorrent conduct" against him and his team. In the wake of the accusations, Baldoni's representatives stated that the claims are "categorically false," while Lively described a multifaceted retaliation against her following complaints about Baldoni's alleged behavior.

The award was given to Baldoni on December 9, as part of the Vital Voices initiative celebrating compassionate male advocates. Upon rescinding the award, the organization cited the values that they represent, which they felt were inconsistent with Baldoni’s actions as described in Lively's legal filing. This incident has also led to the departure of Liz Plank from Baldoni’s Man Enough podcast, where discussions about masculinity and mental health were central themes. Lively, known for her roles in Gossip Girl and other productions, reportedly submitted a list of demands to ensure a positive filming environment, which ultimately included restrictions on personal conduct and media portrayal. Baldoni and his legal team claim that these demands were unreasonable and aimed at sabotaging the film's success. In a statement, Baldoni's lawyer accused Lively of creating a narrative intended to harm Baldoni's reputation. As the legal allegations unfold, the spotlight remains on both parties amid a broader discussion of accountability in the film industry.
