In brief
A Russian missile strike on Saturday killed ten civilians and wounded more than a hundred at a drone‑technology exhibition near Kyiv, where Ukrainian and Russian defence figures were present. Moscow confirmed the use of precision long‑range weapons, while Kyiv said only one of three missiles was intercepted. The attack came amid Ukrainian strikes on a Kirov factory and Wildberries warehouses, targeting logistics linked to military procurement. President Zelensky launched an investigation into the event’s sanctioning and safety measures as the third such incident since 2022.
Russian ballistic missiles struck a drone exhibition near Kyiv on Saturday, killing at least ten people and injuring around 100, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media.
The event showcased drone technology and other military equipment and was attended by representatives from Ukrainian and Russian defence forces, contractors and security services. Russian officials said the strike was carried out with precision long‑range weaponry aimed at a site where drones and other weaponry were being demonstrated.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Ihnat reported that three missiles were launched, but only one was intercepted by air‑defence systems. Survivors were transported to medical facilities amid the debris.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces struck a factory in the Russian city of Kirov and emptied warehouses belonging to Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, targeting logistics hubs involved in military procurement.
President Zelensky announced an investigation into how the exhibition was authorised and what safety measures were in place, while the Russian defence ministry denied any diplomatic repercussions.
The strike marks at least the third time a drone exhibition has fallen victim to Russian attacks since the full‑scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022.
