TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — An international activist flotilla seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza said Wednesday it was attacked for the second night in a row.

The Global Sumud Flotilla reported that one of its boats, the British-flagged “Alma,” was targeted by a drone while docked in Tunisian waters, though fortunately, no one was harmed. The group shared security footage showing crew members shouting “fire” and pointing skyward.

Debris from fiery projectiles struck the deck, igniting a blaze aboard the vessel.

This incident appeared to mirror the drone attack that occurred the previous night on another vessel, the Portuguese-flagged “Family.” While Tunisian authorities dismissed the claims of drone involvement and opened an investigation into the attacks, they have yet to provide a statement regarding the second incident.

The flotilla, composed of approximately 20 boats, departed from Barcelona in Spain on September 1, intending to deliver symbolic humanitarian aid. A stop in Tunisia was planned before the ultimate destination of Gaza.

“These repeat attacks come during intensified Israeli aggression on Palestinians in Gaza, and are an orchestrated attempt to distract and derail our mission,” the activists stated. “The Global Sumud Flotilla continues undeterred.”

There has been no immediate response from Israeli authorities regarding these incidents.
