Tragic Rescue: Over 150 Miners Freed from Abandoned South African Gold Mine

In a dramatic rescue operation in South Africa's eastern Mpumalanga province, authorities have freed over 150 illegal miners, many of whom were reportedly foreign nationals and claimed they were coerced into working underground for gold. The operation revealed a grim scene, with police recovering three bodies on the very first day of the effort. The final miner to be rescued emerged late one night, expressing relief while blowing a whistle as he was received by army personnel.
