"Access means nothing if the power isn't reliable or affordable," remarks Vincent Maposa, Wetility's founder.

With the company's basic package starting at just $60 a month, the initiative makes solar energy accessible to low-income households. Furthermore, their lightweight solar panels are designed specifically for the often fragile roofs in poorer communities, addressing concerns of theft and practicality. "If someone tries to peel it off, it tears and becomes valueless," explains Maposa, highlighting their thoughtful innovation.

Shopkeepers like Julius Koobetseng have also benefited from this shift. In a challenging environment where frequent power cuts threatened his small grocery store, he now enjoys consistent, reliable electricity thanks to the solar power solution. "Power cuts have badly affected small businesses... Now I can plan my day knowing I'll have power," he smiles. With his business thriving under this newfound reliability, he appreciates how solar power has renewed not only his sense of control but also his community's faith in local enterprises.
