In southern Gaza, the Nasser hospital has reported that 24 people were killed near an aid distribution site, amid conflicting narratives from eyewitnesses and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Witnesses claim Israeli troops opened fire as desperate residents sought food aid on Saturday, while the IDF denied any knowledge of injuries from their actions. An Israeli military official stated that warning shots were issued to disperse what they deemed a potentially threatening crowd.

Footage obtained later showed several body bags within the hospital courtyard, surrounded by blood-stained individuals and medical personnel. In the footage, a witness recounted a five-minute barrage of gunfire directed at civilians awaiting aid. Accusations from a paramedic further alleged that Israeli troops executed cold-blooded killings.

Reports from Reuters detailed harrowing eyewitness accounts of people shot in critical areas like the head and torso. The conflict has led to a consistent increase in fatalities in Gaza over the past months, particularly relating to individuals seeking food during the ongoing Israeli blockade, which began in March and resumed escalated military operations against Hamas following a brief two-month ceasefire.
