In brief

At ADIPEC 2026, EGA Master unveiled a suite of advanced torque‑control and digital inventory systems designed to enhance safety by ensuring bolts are tightened to precise specifications. With over five decades of expertise in the oil and gas industry, the Spanish company highlighted its Middle East presence and its commitment to environmentally mindful innovation.

EGA Master, a Spanish industrial tools manufacturer, introduced cutting‑edge torque‑control and digital tool‑management solutions at the 2026 ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi, offering a data‑driven approach to improving safety and operational efficiency in the oil and gas sector.

Torque control refers to the process of applying a specific rotational force to a bolt or fastener, measured in newton‑metres or pound‑inches, to achieve a desired level of clamping pressure. Accurate torque application is critical for preventing fastener loosening, leakage, and catastrophic equipment failure. Digital tool management integrates the same sensors and control logic used in torque applications into a cloud‑based platform that tracks tool usage, calibrations, and inventory status in real time.

During the trade‑show, International Sales Director David Esteves explained that the new technologies focus on ensuring bolts on critical equipment are tightened to predetermined specifications, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. Esteves further noted that EGA Master has supported industrial operations for more than five decades, with its strongest specialist expertise concentrated in the oil and gas sector. The company’s focus at ADIPEC on torque control and inventory management reflects an effort to address safety and operational challenges faced by operators worldwide.

As EGA Master expands into the Middle Eastern market, it has established a first regional subsidiary office in Dubai in 2018, followed by a second office in Abu Dhabi. Esteves said the company has built relationships with major energy companies and contractors across the region. He view the Middle East as one of the company’s most important markets for global growth, noting that regional presence reflects the importance of the Middle East to its business.

Torque‑Control Innovation for Critical Equipment

The torque‑control solution presented by EGA Master is a smart, digitally controllable system that can adapt to a range of fastener types and material grades. By precisely monitoring applied torque, the system can detect deviations from the desired setting in real time and alert operators to potential errors. The technology also records each torque event, creating a clear audit trail that can be used for compliance and maintenance planning.

“Advanced torque control is essential in high‑risk operations, such as those involving high‑pressure pipelines or pressure vessels,” said Esteves. “By ensuring that every bolt is tightened to the specified standard, we help operators prevent failures that could lead to costly downtime or environmental incidents.”

Unlike traditional torque tools that merely provide a visual readout, the EGA Master system can interface with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems to integrate torque information into a plant’s broader data ecosystem. This allows operators to analyse tool‑use data alongside other process metrics, spotting trends that may indicate wear on fasteners or changes in recommended torque settings due to material ageing.

Digital Tool Management and Cyber‑Physical Security

Complementing the torque technology, EGA Master offers a digital tool‑management platform that consolidates inventory data and tool‑condition information. The platform employs RFID tagging and sensor networks to track where each tool is located, its last calibration date, and usage frequency. Operators can access this data via a secure web portal or mobile application, reducing the time spent on manual paperwork and ensuring that rarely used tools are identified for carry‑over or disposal.

Esteves highlighted the environmental considerations embedded in the platform, noting that better inventory tracking can help reduce unnecessary field trips to source new tools, thereby cutting fuel consumption and emissions. The system also provides predictive maintenance cues that can limit over‑use of obsolete tooling, contributing to resource optimisation and extended equipment life.

The digital management solution incorporates cybersecurity features designed to protect against malicious tampering with torque data or inventory logs. By using encrypted communication channels and secure authentication protocols, the platform safeguards the integrity of vital operational data—a key requirement for meeting increasingly rigorous safety certification standards.

In addition to its feature set, EGA Master has emphasised the accessibility of its solutions for operators in emerging markets. By deploying tools that require minimal training and offering multilingual support, the company aims to broaden the adoption of digital safety practices across the industry.

While the WAM source article focuses on safety benefits, rival outlets such as Big News Network report that the technology’s real‑time data analytics capability also holds potential for predictive maintenance cycles. This dual focus on safety and optimization reflects a broader shift in industrial tool design away from standalone mechanical devices toward integrated cyber‑physical systems.

With its strong legacy in the oil and gas sector, EGA Master continues to leverage digital technologies to meet evolving industry demands. By placing advanced torque control and digital inventory at the forefront of its ADIPEC 2026 showcase, the company demonstrates how smart industrial tools can reduce accident risk while supporting efficient, environmentally responsible operations.
