Unmasked: Ukrainian suspect in Monaco parcel bomb identified as woman

Interpol releases a photo of 39‑year‑old Ukrainian Anastasiia Berezovska, who is believed to have disguised herself as a man to carry out a parcel bombing in Monaco.

On Monday night a parcel was left in the lobby of a building on the Monaco‑France border, and an explosion followed shortly after. Three residents – a real‑estate developer, his partner and a 13‑year‑old son – were seriously injured.

Police say Berezovska, who speaks German, fled the scene on foot before taking a hire‑car and driving into Germany. A Red Notice was issued, and her movements are now being tracked by authorities across Europe.

Investigators focused on the victim, Vadym Yermolaiev, a Cypriot former Ukrainian citizen with large stakes in the wine and alcohol business in Crimea. Yermolaiev has been hit by sanctions from Kyiv for his Russian ties.

Interpol stated that the suspect had spent days watching the target’s residence. CCTV footage shows her wearing a dark bucket hat. A distinctive tattoo of a snake may be on her right arm.

Monaco’s public prosecutor thanked French and Monégasque officers for swift cooperation, while German Hesse authorities confirmed that a rented apartment and the car used by Berezovska were searched and seized.

Prince Albert II has called the attack a "heinous crime", and the victims are receiving treatment in hospitals in Nice.
