LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A tragic accident involving a UPS cargo plane has claimed the lives of 14 individuals, including three airline pilots. The community is left devastated as the names of the deceased were released, revealing stories of loved ones lost.

Eight days after the aircraft crashed during takeoff from UPS Worldport at Muhammad Ali International Airport, the local coroner's office confirmed they had completed the recovery and identification of victims, allowing families to receive the painful news. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the crash site.
Among the victims were three experienced pilots: Capt. Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and Capt. Dana Diamond. Alongside them were individuals like John Spray, working at Grade A Auto Parts & Recycling, who was described by family as being in the wrong place at the wrong time when the plane struck the ground, exploding into flames.
Another victim, 37-year-old electrician Matthew Sweets, succumbed to severe burn injuries days after the crash. Reports indicate that he leaves behind two young children. Eyewitness accounts and video footage have surfaced, providing vital information for investigators as they work to piece together the timeline of the incident.
