Four children have been brutally stabbed and killed at a school in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, according to police reports.
A 34-year-old suspect has been detained, but the motive behind the killings remains under investigation by Uganda's police force.
The incident occurred at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Makindye Division, where crime scene investigators are currently examining the area. Police Chief Abas Byakagaba and other senior officials have visited the school following the incident.
Local reports suggest that the suspect may have posed as a parent to gain access to the school before attacking the children. The victims were identified as being between the ages of two and three, prompting widespread shock and anger within the community.
Videos circulating on social media depict crowds of distressed parents and onlookers gathering outside the school following the attack. Authorities intervened swiftly to apprehend the suspect and prevent potential violence against him, according to local journalists.
The affected community is left reeling as they seek answers and support in the wake of this unspeakable tragedy.
