Ella Langley, the 27‑year‑old country‑music star from Alabama, announced the cancelation of her sold‑out show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Friday night, citing a “serious security threat.”

The decision was made only two hours before the 19,000‑seat BOK Center was set to welcome thousands of fans‑the singer described the choice as an “incredibly difficult” one.

According to an Instagram post, the threat involved potential harm to attendees, venue staff and Langley’s team. Police chief Richard Meulenberg relayed that a caller warned of “great harm” with “shots fired and bombs” at the event. Despite extensive sweeps by Tulsa Police and sniffer dogs, investigators found no credible threats.

The BOK Center issued a statement emphasising that safety and well‑being were the priority and that the show could not proceed. The venue expressed regret and thanks the disappointed fans for their understanding.

Langley, who recently set a US record for the longest‑running number‑one single with “Choosin’ Texas,” apologised in her post and promised forthcoming details on ticket refunds.

The incident follows a surge in security concerns at live‑event venues nationwide, prompting industry discussions on risk mitigation and emergency preparedness.
