At least two people have been killed after Russia resumed airstrikes early on Tuesday on Kyiv.

The attack followed an agreement that paused strikes on each other's capitals for three days while US officials toured Moscow and Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that the war could continue into the winter after meeting Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Air‑raid alerts urged civilians to seek shelter as Russian drone strikes hit residential buildings, a five‑storey apartment block, and sparked automotive fires in the city.

Residents were seen inside a metro station, a common refuge during ongoing attacks.

In Russia, cities such as Saratov were also struck during a Ukrainian drone attack, governor Roman Busargin confirmed.

The talks between US officials and Kyiv officials ended without breakthrough, but President Zelensky called for a trilateral meeting with Russia and the United States.
