Russian Drone Strikes Ukrainian TV Headquarters, Killing Five
A Russian drone reportedly hit the main office of the Ukrainian broadcasters’ “We Are Ukraine” in the capital, collapsing part of the building and cutting live telecast transmissions.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strike as “a new page in Russian degradation,” calling it a deliberate attack on journalism and urging European and U.S. allies to act more forcefully.
The attack came amid a surge of missile and drone raids that have left at least five dead and several injured during the overnight raid on Kyiv.
Residents, including journalists, had to abandon their studios and seek shelter in underground metro stations – a routine safety measure amid the war’s relentless assault.
Back‑to‑back talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials, bathed in symbolism but stalled on key differences, had recently concluded without a substantive breakthrough, maintaining the stakes high for both sides.
