Recent findings from the US Department of Justice (DOJ) have revealed that former President Donald Trump traveled on the private jet of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein at least eight times between 1993 and 1996. These revelations come from a previously withheld email, which stated that Trump’s presence on Epstein’s flight list was more frequent than previously reported.
The details were disclosed in a DOJ email chain dated January 7, 2020. It noted that Trump's inclusion in the flight records doesn't indicate any illegal actions on his part. The former president has denied any wrongdoing regarding Epstein and claimed in 2024, I was never on Epstein's Plane.
Trump and Epstein were known associates with a friendship that reportedly ended around 2004, years before Epstein's first arrest in 2006. Concerns over their relationship were reignited with the recent release of over 30,000 pages of documents as part of the so-called Epstein files.
These documents have sparked controversy due to their sensational claims about Trump, which the DOJ has labeled as unfounded and false, asserting that if any credible evidence existed, it would have been used against him during the 2020 election cycle. The DOJ has committed to releasing documents while safeguarding the identities of Epstein's victims.
The flights listed included significant figures such as Trump’s then-wife Marla Maples and his children. On at least one flight, Trump was reportedly the only other passenger besides Epstein. The DOJ's email references flights where Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's close associate, was also present.
Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, has left behind a troubling legacy impacting many high-profile individuals. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 after being convicted for her role in Epstein's crimes.
The DOJ’s recent email confirms previous knowledge of Trump's travels on Epstein's aircraft, although details on the nature of these flights remain unclear. Additional documents related to the Epstein investigation are expected to be released in the coming weeks as scrutiny of this matter unfolds.
