Kiefer Sutherland, a prominent actor known for his role as Jack Bauer in the series 24, has found himself in hot water again following his arrest for allegedly assaulting a ride-share driver.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Sutherland entered a ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver, and made threats. The incident occurred around 12:15 AM PST (08:15 GMT) on Monday at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Fortunately, the driver was not injured during the altercation.
The actor, 59, was subsequently released after posting a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 2. The LAPD's Hollywood Division is currently investigating the case.
Sutherland, the son of actor Donald Sutherland, has a history of legal troubles, including a 2007 DUI conviction that resulted in a 48-day jail sentence. While he faced an assault arrest in 2009, those charges were later dropped. His more recent legal issues included a 2020 arrest for making an illegal U-turn.
This latest incident has reignited discussions surrounding the actor's past encounters with the law and raised questions about what could be next for the Hollywood star.
