Colleen Hoover Shares Successful Cancer Surgery Update

Best-selling author Colleen Hoover has revealed that she has been undergoing treatment following a cancer diagnosis. The 46-year-old writer, acclaimed for books like It Ends With Us and Reminders of Him, shared that her surgery was successful and she is nearing the end of her radiotherapy treatments.

Hoover publicly shared her news via an Instagram post where she showcased a hospital gown selfie, expressing her relief after her surgery. In follow-up messages, she reassured her fans that she is doing better after choosing to keep her diagnosis private until her surgery's outcome was confirmed.

In a private Facebook group for her fans, she mentioned that recurring health issues had troubled her throughout 2025 but she postponed seeking medical advice due to filming commitments. Upon returning home, Hoover received her cancer diagnosis, which she described as unsettling initially. She explained that it was a significant moment for her, impacting both her personal life and career.

'Huge and Scary'

In her messages, Hoover reflected on the emotional weight of her diagnosis while acknowledging the necessity of health maintenance. She humorously noted the link between her potential cancer diagnosis and lifestyle factors such as poor diet and stress. I'm happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables, she remarked, lightening the conversation amid serious health discussions.

Continuing on her healing journey, Hoover expressed appreciation for her healthcare team at Texas Oncology, with whom she has been receiving treatment.

'I'm a Badass'

In the face of her health challenges, Hoover recently released her latest novel, Woman Down, her first book since 2022. She assured fans that her health update wasn’t a tactic for garnering sympathy sales on her book's release day. Despite her circumstances, the author has shown resilience by engaging with fans, even making a surprise appearance at a release event in South Carolina.

Hoover’s literary career continues to thrive; her book, It Ends With Us, has sold over 20 million copies and recently debuted as a feature film. While she navigates her health journey, it’s clear that her dedication to writing and connecting with her community remains unshakeable.
