Adele Kelly, the deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, confirmed the charge, citing it as "one count of grievous bodily harm" in line with section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861. She stressed that "criminal proceedings against this defendant are active" and reiterated his rights to a fair trial. Despite the legal troubles, Brown remains on tour, with performances lined up across the UK throughout June and July.
