**Zimbabwe's Political Landscape Shifts as President Faces Internal Dissent**

**Rising tensions within ZANU-PF threaten President Mnangagwa's rule amid calls for protest.**

**Zimbabwe's political fabric is fraying as President Emmerson Mnangagwa faces unprecedented pressure from factions within his party, sparking fears of escalating unrest.**

Zimbabwe is on the edge of political upheaval as dissent grows within the ranks of the ruling ZANU-PF party, challenging President Emmerson Mnangagwa's hold on power. Nearly eight years post-coup, he faces intensified calls for his resignation, including planned mass protests, which he has labeled as “treasonous” acts orchestrated by “chameleon-like characters.”

The nation, grappling with a dire economic crisis marked by rampant hyperinflation and soaring poverty levels, now confronts a potential explosion of public dissent. Many citizens are bracing themselves for violent confrontations in the streets as frustrations mount over the president's leadership amidst continued allegations of corruption and human rights violations.

Economic conditions in Zimbabwe remain grim, with the majority of jobs existing in the informal sector, often characterized by low wages and precarious working conditions. Robert Mutambara, an economist from the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce, noted that about 80 percent of individuals in the workforce are engaged in informal employment.

On the global stage, Zimbabwe's tarnished reputation due to reports of state-sponsored violence, electoral fraud, and widespread corruption has prompted nations like the United States to impose sanctions targeted at the ruling elite, including Mnangagwa himself. The current turmoil within ZANU-PF raises significant questions about the future of governance in Zimbabwe and the potential for renewed political violence as opposing voices grow louder amid a stagnant economy.
