An inquiry has been initiated into the death of French streamer Raphaël Graven, famously known as Jeanpormanove, whose passing has sparked serious discussions about online safety. Graven, aged 46, was discovered deceased in a residence located in Contes, near Nice, while completing a live broadcast. Reports from local media detail his history of enduring violent behaviors and extreme challenges during his streams, culminating in his death that occurred while he was live online.

French government minister Clara Chappaz characterized the circumstances surrounding Graven's death as an “absolute horror,” noting that he had faced “humiliation” over an extended period. The authorities are particularly focused on understanding the events leading to his death, with the prosecutor’s office opening a formal investigation, which includes an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

Kick, the live-streaming platform where Graven was active, has stated it is "urgently reviewing" the situation surrounding his tragic demise.
