As the conflict between Iran and Israel escalates, tens of thousands of Britons residing in Israel are struggling to leave the country. With Israeli airspace closed indefinitely and all flights to and from the nation grounded, chaos and fear have engulfed those stranded there. The escalation has seen Iran launching hundreds of missiles and drones into Israel, in retaliation to recent Israeli military actions.

British citizens find themselves in an unsettling situation marked by sleepless nights, incessant alarms, and frantic trips to bomb shelters. Amidst the escalating conflict, the UK government has warned against all travel to Israel and urged those within the country to adhere to local safety protocols. However, reports suggest that evacuation plans for stranded nationals have yet to be established.

Deborah Claydon, a teacher from Hertfordshire, shared her terrifying experience of being trapped with her elderly mother after attending a family wedding. Describing the situation as going from joyful celebrations to fear, she noted the constant threat of missiles and stated, "I want to get home to my job and my kids." Her sentiments reflected the collective anxiety shared by many, as the Israeli authorities have reported at least 24 fatalities since hostilities intensified.

Reports indicate that an estimated 40,000 tourists are caught in this precarious situation, including those who came for the now-canceled Pride celebrations in Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, a Czech flight has already managed to escort individuals back to Prague, whereas other nations are issuing similar calls for citizens to register for support.
