All Northern Gaza Hospitals Rendered Inoperable Amid Ongoing Conflict
The Hamas-run health ministry reports that all public hospitals in northern Gaza have ceased operations as hostilities escalate.
All three public hospitals in northern Gaza have been declared "out of service," according to the health ministry controlled by Hamas, as Israeli military operations intensify. On Sunday, the health ministry reported that Israeli forces surrounded the Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahia, preventing access for patients, medical personnel, and essential supplies. This facility had been the last fully operational hospital in the north.
The Israeli military recently initiated "Operation Gideon's Chariot," leading to what has been described as one of the most lethal barrages in recent months. During negotiations on Saturday, Hamas proposed releasing nine hostages in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire and the liberation of Palestinian detainees, as reported by a Palestinian official to the BBC.
The health ministry further emphasized the severity of the situation, stating, "After the destruction of Beit Hanoun Hospital and Kamal Adwan Hospital, with the Indonesian Hospital now out of operation, all public hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are currently out of service." This declaration underlines the escalating humanitarian crisis as the conflict continues to unfold.
