The Israeli military has issued a warning for all residents of Gaza City to evacuate immediately in advance of a large ground offensive targeting Hamas militants. The military’s Arabic spokesperson instructed approximately one million Palestinians to move southward, declaring that staying in Gaza City's northern areas poses extreme danger.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that the recent Israeli airstrikes, which have led to the destruction of numerous high-rise buildings in Gaza City, are just the start of a comprehensive operation to capture what he claims is Hamas's last significant stronghold.

Hamas responded to these remarks, asserting that they represent a serious crime of forced displacement amid ongoing bombardments that already threaten civilian lives.

The planned ground offensive has triggered widespread international criticism, with the United Nations warning that further military actions in an area facing famine could lead civilians into an “even deeper catastrophe.”

Hamas called the evacuation directives a blatant violation of international law, while many residents of Gaza City expressed uncertainty about their safety and where to flee. Reports indicate that some residents began moving south; however, logistical challenges and limited transportation options are impeding a mass exodus.

Escalating military activity has already resulted in significant destruction in Gaza. Netanyahu noted the destruction of at least 50 buildings over a brief period, reinforcing the urgency of the military's operational plans.

As evacuations commence, the forthcoming ground offensive signifies an alarming intensification of the conflict, with numerous civilian lives hanging in the balance amidst warnings of dire humanitarian crises from global agencies.
