The Kilauea volcano has erupted, producing stunning lava fountains shooting up to 100 feet into the air, according to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. This latest eruption is the 31st event within a year, marking Kilauea as one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
On August 22, fresh lava began spewing from the volcano at approximately 14:04 local time (01:04 BST), as captured in extensive video footage released by the US Geological Survey (USGS).
