In brief
Recent lawsuits reveal serious allegations against Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is simultaneously facing federal sex trafficking charges while in custody.
Six new civil lawsuits have been filed against Sean "Diddy" Combs in a New York federal court, adding to his mounting legal woes. The plaintiffs, three men and three women, accuse the hip-hop mogul of sexual assault occurring at various parties in Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas. Notably, the youngest claimant alleges incidents that took place when they were just 13 years old.Combs is currently being held at a Brooklyn jail, where he is facing separate federal charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, to which he has pleaded not guilty. His legal team has dismissed the recent slew of lawsuits as attempts to generate publicity, emphatically asserting that "Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone—adult or minor, man or woman."The new civil cases allege a disturbing pattern of behavior where Combs or his associates drugged drinks at events, leading to dizziness and disorientation. Some plaintiffs recount allegations of rape, forced oral sex, and aggressive groping. One particular lawsuit details a horrific event at a 2000 VMAs after-party where a 13-year-old girl claims she was raped by Combs and another unidentified male celebrity. In a separate suit, an independent artist alleges that after being drugged at a party, she woke up in pain with visible indications that she had been restrained. Another claim describes a personal trainer who alleges that after witnessing other celebrities engaging in sexual activities at a party, he was coerced into a separate room where Combs allegedly assaulted him.Additional allegations involve a woman who says she was drugged in Combs’ hotel room and awakened to find herself naked while he spoke on the phone, and a man running a security firm who purports that he was incapacitated at a gathering and assaulted by the music mogul.Over the past year, accusations against Combs have swelled, with reports suggesting that over 100 individuals plan to file lawsuits against him for sexual misconduct. Prosecutors describe him as the leader of a criminal operation that exploited women, allegedly using threats and violence to induce participation in drug-influenced orgies. Following several denied bail requests, Combs awaits his trial set for May 2025.
