Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned a large-scale Russian missile strike overnight that killed 15 people across central and eastern Ukraine, calling it one of Russia’s most vile attacks.

In Pryluky, a residential building was destroyed and the president described the assault as a “birthday gift” to 74-year-old Putin. Additional strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhzhia and Oleksandriya.

\

Zelensky said Ukraine returned fire, targeting sites in Russia’s Perm, Samara and Astrakhan regions and a “response in the Black Sea,” though details were sparse. Moscow has yet to comment.

Casualty reports indicate two people died and eight were injured in Dnipro, two in Kyiv and another two in Oleksandriya. A Ukrainian video shows rubble in an apartment building in Pryluky and damage to cars in Kremenchuk.

\

The president also highlighted that 70 missiles were launched and targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, urging allies to strengthen air‑defence support.

In the Black Sea, footage showed a plume of smoke from a tanker off Sochi, with Russian authorities blaming unmanned boats. Meanwhile, Bulgaria halted a search for a crew lost after a drone hit a cargo ship in its exclusive economic zone.
