Lola Young has told fans she is doing OK now after collapsing on stage during a performance in New York on Saturday.
The 24-year-old singer was performing at the All Things Go Festival when she appeared to drop her microphone and fall backwards, sparking concern among fans and fellow performers.
In a statement posted on social media, Young reassured fans and thanked them for the supportive messages. Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now, she wrote on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support.
Videos from the event showed her looking uncomfortable before collapsing while performing her song 'Conceited' from her second album, 'This Wasn't Meant For You Anyway'. Earlier in her set, Young had told the audience she had had a tricky couple of days due to a sensitive matter, acknowledging that sometimes life throws you lemons but that one must learn to make lemonade.
Previously, she had canceled a performance at New Jersey's Prudential Centre on Friday due to health concerns.
After her collapse, rapper Doechii rallied the crowd to shout we love you Lola in a heartfelt display of support, emphasizing Young's talent and acknowledging her discomfort leading up to the performance.
Young, a former Brit School for Performing Arts pupil, gained fame with her hit 'Messy', which topped charts in the UK and several other countries and became particularly popular on TikTok. She recently performed at London Fashion Week and, as of now, no further performances have been canceled.
