In a recent address, former President Donald Trump highlighted the importance of skilled immigration, urging that the U.S. requires talented individuals to come into the country to reinforce the workforce in high-tech industries.

Speaking at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump stated, We need immigrants who can train our domestic workers in advanced manufacturing. This is crucial for our industries to thrive, particularly in tech sectors like semiconductor production.

Trump's remarks had received applause from the audience; however, they sparked an intense exchange with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who questioned the influx of various foreign workers. Trump rebutted her views by stressing the necessity of sourcing talent from abroad.

Despite resistance from segments of his MAGA supporter base, Trump maintained that expanding skill-based immigration is not contradictory to conservative values. I cherish my conservative supporters, but I firmly believe that introducing skilled workers is part of the strategy to strengthen America, he affirmed.

Online criticism followed, particularly from factions opposed to programs that advance skilled immigration, such as H-1B visas, but Trump argued that the U.S. workforce is not adequately prepared to meet the demands of complex manufacturing tasks.

He further illustrated his point by recalling the case of several South Korean workers affected by immigration enforcement at Hyundai's electric vehicle plant, revealing that many have returned, showcasing a demand for skilled labor in advanced technology sectors.
