Police in Ontario have charged a 34‑year‑old woman, identified as Nassim Eronn of Burlington, with 65 offences for allegedly stealing from patients and staff at several healthcare centres between February 2024 and April 2026.
The charges cover 34 counts of fraud under $5,000, 13 thefts under $5,000, seven counts of disobeying a court order, breach of trust and impersonation. Investigators say the suspect worked across five hospitals but her exact duties remain unclear.
The investigation began in May after a theft report at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. Multiple search warrants were later executed, leading to the seizure of dozens of items, including clothing, furniture and medical equipment.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) urged anyone who noticed suspicious transactions in their financial records during the relevant periods to come forward. OPP believes there may be more victims yet to be identified.
Five facilities were specifically mentioned in the investigation:
- Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital – April 2025 to March 2026
- Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville) – August 2026 to September 2026
- Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital – August 2025 to July 2026
- St Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto) – July 2024 to January 2025
- West Park Health Care Centre (Toronto) – February 2024 to April 2024
Law enforcement officials have confirmed the suspect’s name and residence, and the prosecution will address the full battery of charges once the trial commences. The case highlights the necessity for stringent security protocols within healthcare facilities to protect vulnerable patients and staff from opportunistic theft.
