The first strike hit a three‑storey residential building, killing eleven people, including two children and four women. The second strike targeted a vehicle carrying paramedics, killing a member of the Islamic Health Association.
The Lebanese health ministry reported that the total death toll from the strikes was twelve, while fifteen people were wounded, three of them children and one paramedic. The victims were described as civilians with no affiliation to Hezbollah, according to the ministry.
Israeli officials said the attacks were aimed at “infrastructure sites belonging to the Shia Muslim armed group Hezbollah” and “several terrorists” transferring weapons. The strikes followed a drone attack launched by Hezbollah fighters against Israeli troops operating in the Ali al‑Taher ridge area within what Israel calls its “security zone.”
The incident comes amid a series of clashes that have already claimed at least 27 lives over the past three days in southern Lebanon, and threatens the June ceasefire brokered by the United States. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the “dangerous escalation” endangers the agreement and called on the international community to pressure Israel to stop the attacks.
The IDF released a statement saying the strikes had hit “several Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure sites” overnight and that the claim that uninvolved civilians were harmed is under review. No comment has yet come from Hezbollah regarding the latest attacks.
