Despite a ban, tens of thousands marched toward parliament. Police used batons and tear gas, injuring at least 60 protesters, while 118 officers were reported wounded. Seventy demonstrators were detained.
Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, criticized the violence, calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi anti‑youth. The movement, though not a registered party, has emerged as a potent voice against the government.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke issued a statement apologizing for the brutality, noting that an injured supporter is in critical condition. The group remains determined to secure an overhaul of India’s education system amid reported exam paper leaks.
